Maren Sofie is an accordionist based in Norway with a special interest in contemporary music. She is also active as a free improviser and composer. As a musician, she has played in a wide variety of projects, both as a soloist and chamber musician. She has played at festivals such as Ultima oslo contemporary music festival, Ung Nordisk Musikk, Only Connect 2025, Blow Out!, Venice biennale 2024 and Oslo Jazz festival. The projects she has participated in vary from projects with choirs, free improvising ensembles, dancers, composers, operas, and her own projects. Currently, she’s a member of the ensembles Koryfe, KRÆKK, and AKSE, which all focus on contemporary music, ranging from traditional contemporary pieces to more performative pieces. 

This concert is part of the “Crossinge Bellows” propject hosted by Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and supportted by Accordionfest. The program includes World premiere of “Light in the Darkness” for solo accordion by Robin garen Aaberg.
